Here is the opening paragraph from PMDG's Robert Randazzo about the current status of the upcoming release of the new 737NGX.
"Captains-
As you have no doubt noticed, we have slowed the tempo of what can best be described as: "PMDG 737NGX Show and Tell" during the first part of 2011...
This is a deliberate decision in part because we are so darn busy with wrap-up, and also in part because we decided to play our cards a bit closer to the vest in order to roll out some really stunning finish details right before we tell you that you can pick up your new PMDG 737NGX and launch off on your first post-delivery flight.
I thought I'd give you a short update on what exactly we are doing as we wrap the PMDG 737NGX up for release." - Robert Randazzo
The rest of the update covers the following:
* STATUS OF THE AIRPLANE
* SO, WHEN WILL IT RELEASE?
* WHAT ARE WE WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

The Latest about the PMDG 737NGX
This is a copy of a posting by Robert Randazzo (The Big Guy at PMDG) about the 737NGX Project, and how the project is quickly approaching release.
--- The silence on our end is actually a good thing. We are all head down on the final wrap-up... Right now Dr. Vaos and I are working about 15-18hrs per day seven days per week, Alex is at about 10-12.. The rest of the team has moved on to the next project and the NGX is rapidly nearing release. But more on that later.
Now as to these "rumors" you cite: They are... Uhm... (how to put this so that Tom won't get mad at me...): Bovine Scatology...
I guess what you are trying to be coy in asking is actually two questions:
1) Is the NGX late because of some internal disfunction?: Yes... Actually- it is, but this is three year old news and that problem was excised back in 2008, almost precisely three years ago this week. We've been hearing this same "BS" (see: Bovine Scatology, above. ) rumor the past few days- and it has created quite a bit of sordid humor within the team that I can't share without Tom banning me for life.
2) Are there any issues that might delay/prevent release? No. From a technical standpoint the development is essentially finished and we are in detail/optimization/cleanup mode- and while all of us are eagerly looking forward to release, we refuse to push her out the door until she is perfect...
I had the opportunity to demo the airplane for some friends at Boeing Test Flight a few weeks ago, and they were stunned by the detail and the quality...
So- as always we remain focused on what we are good at...
I'll have a longer post for with more details this week, but for now I have to finish testing the fluid model in Hydraulics before Dr. Vaos accuses me of making a project out of it.

Donate today to the American Red Cross....Helping in Japan
The American Red Cross is in need of help.
This is a clip from the article on the Red Cross website.
"Since early Friday morning when the earthquake struck off shore, triggering a tsunami that spanned the entire Pacific Basin, the American Red Cross has been in close contact with its colleagues in the region to offer our support. Given widespread damage and enormous humanitarian needs, the Japanese Red Cross indicated that it would accept financial support from the American Red Cross for its role providing first aid, emotional support and relief items to those displaced." - American Red Cross Website.

FLIGHTBEAM STUDIOS RELEASES SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!
Congratulations to the FlightBeam Studios Team on the Release of their first Scenery.
Another New Product Coming Soon From FSDreamteam..... Ground Services X
"There will be several interesting expansion options, like the ability to add vehicles "repaints", which can be localized for a large region (US, Europe, Asia, etc.) or be specific for a certain nation or even a single airport. The vehicles use the standard FSX format with multiple models and multiple "liveries" (which, for people, means multiple characters) and we might come up with expansion products like new collections of vehicles and/or people, specific for certain areas. However, the base product will contain everything needed to support the whole World, from day one. " - Umberto Colapicchioni (FSDT Forum)
